About Me

My photo
I'm living life to make me smile. I'm intelligent in the annoying way where I don't find stupid humor or stupid people funny. I'm addicted to hot chocolate, reading, and make up. I'm moody yet charming. I'm complicated and lovable. Just when you think you've got me figured out, the season's already changing. My eyes will give it away, but my heart's been known to lie. I'm hard to handle. Even harder to love. I'm a sucker for a good kiss and a great hug. I'm loyal and will never stray. If I seem stuck-up, it's cause I am to an extent. I have standards. I am loved and like being reminded every once in a while. By this I mean often. I gravitate towards interesting, admirable individuals, and conversationalists with something appealing to say. I show respect but demand it as well. Jesus loves me and I love Him back.

Time Tested Beauty Tips

Time Tested Beauty Tips

For attractive lips,
speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes,
seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure,
share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair,
let a child run his fingers through it once a day.

For poise,
walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone...

People, even more than things,
have to be restored, renewed, revived,
reclaimed and redeemed and redeemed ...

Never throw out anybody. Remember, if you ever need a
helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.

As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands.
One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

The beauty of a woman
is not in the clothes she wears,

The figure that she carries,
or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman
must be seen from in her eyes,
because that is the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman
is not in a facial mole,
but true beauty in a woman
is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
the passion that she shows,
And the beauty of a woman
with passing years-only grows!

-Sam Levenson

This was one of Audrey Hepburn's favorite poems written by Sam Levenson. I can see why she loved it so much. It has a wonderful meaning and is written beautifully. It is now my favorite poem too. :)

Heart of Worship

When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless Your heart

I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus

King of endless worth
No one could express
How much You deserve
Though I'm weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath

I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

I'm coming back to the heart of worship
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus

I'm coming back to the heart of worship,
And it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You,
It's all about You, Jesus

I was listening to this song just as I was finishing up with my last blog. And as it always does, it squeezed my heart strings and my eyes were stung by the tears behind them. It's such a beautiful song. And so so true to the way I feel so often. I do back-slide, then I do come back to the heart of worship. I need to grow up and stay there though. I'm working on it. It's just a little challenging sometimes.

So I just thought I would share these beautiful lyrics. Truly one of my favorite songs.

Que Sera Sera

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

When I was a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.

Que Sera, Sera
Whatever will be, will be
The futures not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

This is only a bit of the song "Que Sera Sera". I love it all, but the rest doesn't really apply to me at this moment and time. I absolutely love Doris Day. She's so glamouras, calm, cool, and collected. I just watched "Young at Heart", one of my favorites of hers. Frank Sinatra stars in the movie with her. He's completely gorgeous. Too bad they don't make fellas like that anymore.

My mom and I were saying while we were watching this movie that we were born about 60 years too late. I would have loved to be alive back in this time frame. She said that my great-grandpa Ed was born in 1910. I think 1910 would have been a good year to be born. He would have been one-hundred years old this year. Kind of crazy to think about.

I have so many favorite old movies. They're my favorite kind to watch. I would watch a black and white film over what comes on TV now, any day of the week. I don't believe that there is enough space here to type all of my favorite old movies. I don't think I have enough time either. :)

Well I'm off to bed now. Gotta be at work at 8:00 in the morning.
So goodnight to all and to all a good night!

Quotes

Here are some quotes that I've came across, loved, and saved in my phone so I wouldn't forget them. :)

The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good.
-Samuel Johnson

Beginnings are usually scary and endings are usually sad, but it's everything in between that makes it all worth living.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who did, who won't anymore, and who always will. So don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason they didn't make it into your future.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy ice cream, which is kinda the same thing.

Its not the home I love, but its the life that's lived there.

Thank you, God, for this good life and forgive us if we do not love it enough.

I have found the key to a happy life is to surround myself with like-minded people who agree with me constantly.
-John Mayer

Today I'm handing out lolipops and ass-whoopins and right now, I'm all out of lolipops.
-Jack, from Will & Grace

My name is Anastasia Beverhausen. That's Anastasia like the Russian royalty and Beverhausen like...where the beaver live.
-Karen, from Will & Grace

Curve: The loveliest distance between two points.
-Mae West

If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one, go ahead, get married.
-Katharine Hepburn

I'd much rather be a woman than a man. Women can cry, they wear cute clothes, and they're the first to be rescued off sinking ships.
-Gilda Radner

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.
-The Land Before Time

You'll spend the rest of your life getting up one more time when you get knocked down. So you better get use to it.
-John Wayne

The Dog Days Are NOT Over!

All I want right now is a puppy! I haven't had a pet since Mr. Darcy and Sydney. About two years ago.
Mr. Darcy was the cutest little mini Yorkie ever. My brother lost him by "accident". Sydney was the most beautiful chocolate Doberman in the world. She was so sweet. I miss her very much, but we couldn't bring her with us when we moved to Ft Sill.

So now I'm wanting another dog. I just don't know what kind. I've been researching, trying to find what type is good to have if you have a small yard. There are several kinds that I want. I really really would LOVE to have a Husky. I'm not sure if that's a good idea since we're in Hawaii and it's warm here all of the time. Plus we have a little back yard and they're pretty active. Another very adorable breed that I would love to have is Samoyed. They look like Huskies, but they're pure white. Very beautiful. But for the same reason's as the Husky...not a good idea. I need a smaller dog. I'm kind of thinking that I want a Teacup Poodle. Poodles remind me of my great-grandma, and plus they don't shed. I think it's going to be a challenge to find them here. I've been looking online all night for kennels and just sites for puppies for sale here. I'm not having any luck at all. I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

❤ My dream poodle puppy.

I rented "Robinhood" today. I absolutely loved it. One of my favorite movies now. I love Russell Crowe. If I ever had to pick between him and Gerard Butler, I have no idea who I would pick! (How do you like that I say that like I'll have the option one day. Haha) Anyways they're my absolute two favorites.

Speaking of men...I'm currently not dating anyone at the moment. Not even "talking" to anyone.I don't have a problem with it. I'm actually quite content with it.Maybe that makes me weird, but oh well.I feel like I don't need a boyfriend or a guy in my life to make me happy.Lately it seems that I've only been attracting older men...What's with that????I would like to know.

Tomorrow is my day off and I plan to sleep in finally! Maybe go to the beach too. Oh and I have to go buy stuff to make cupcakes. I'm making some for work on Friday. We're having a potluck type thing for one of my co-workers going away party. Since I'm not a real good cook. I thought I would just buy like dessert or something. Then I got the brilliant idea to make cupcakes. With my mom's help of course.

Well I'm off to watch "Henry Poole Is Here." Hopefully I won't cry. I've already been warned that I will. So I'll have to see...

Strawberry Wine.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Strawberry wine is my favorite. I love the way it tastes after I swallow.
I just watched "How to Train a Dragon". It was so cute. I really liked it. I watched it with my family. We were only interrupted a few times by my dad's phone ringing. One of his soldiers is a little trouble-maker. Disrespectful too. That's what the calls were about tonight. Honestly, I think that if you're old enough to fight for your country you should be old enough to know how to act like a responsible human being.

I'm starting to miss waiting tables. I never thought I would ever say that, but it's true. For some reason I just miss doing it and I miss the atmosphere of a restaurant. As of now I'm working at customer service at the PX here on post. It's alright and I like the people I work with. I'm just ready to do something more. That's why I'm so excited to go back to school next semester. I'm determined to do it right this time. I'm actually going to finish. I can't possibly be a procrastinator for the rest of my life. I'm going to eventually run out of time.

Today I donated money to a charity for the first time. It made me feel good. Like I was helping out. I want to do m ore though. I'm not quite sure how to or if I even can do anything besides donate money. I'm also thinking that I want a puppy. I would like to get one from a shelter. I want a small dog. I really just want something that will cuddle with me and will always be happy to see me. Hahaha. Sometimes I start to think about my life and how much it has changed. I would have never thought that I would be where I am today, ever. Its still kind of hard to believe that I haven't lived in Wister in basically two years. I honestly think that its the best thing that could have ever happened to me and my mom and brother. I do miss the little small town in Oklahoma, but I'm loving it here in Hawaii for now. I so believe that I will move back to Oklahoma one day. Not Wister, but maybe Medicine Park or somewhere around there. I really loved it when we lived there last year. But who knows when I'll move back there. I'll be here for three years and a lot can happen in that amount of time. Nothing could happen too, you just never know. However, I am excited to find out where my life will take me. Its just up to me to make it happen.

I had a very lovely afternoon with my family. Now my parents are up in bed and my brother is watching TV. I'm sitting here typing away and thinking about my book. I just started to read "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks. I'm on page 80 and so far, so good. But what of his isn't good??? I love everything he does. So I guess I'm off to be a nerd and read.

Candy Canes & Snow Caps

Grrrr....I just typed a very long blog and deleted it all on accident!
It's alright though. I remained calm and just though of candy canes and snow caps. It instantly made me feel better. I don't need sleep anyways right?
So here we go again...

A long time ago my very wise mother told me that I should always be the three C's.
Which are: Considerate, compassionate, and caring.
I would like to add one more C to the list though.
Confident.
I pray every night and morning, and even throughout the day, that God helps me be the four C's.
So that's my goal for right now. Be the four C's. I work in the general public, so that tends to make this a little harder for me. So I'll let you know how it works out.

Some of my favorite things at the moment:
Favorite movie: "Leap Year" is so cute and adorable. It's so good. It makes me want to move to Ireland and marry an Irish man. And have little ginger babies. That would be pretty sweet!
Favorite song: I'm liking Rihanna's new song, "Only Girl in the World". I also like her red hair she has in the music video. It makes me want to color mine red. Not the Kool-Aid red, but a dark auburn or something.
Favorite TV show: For some reason I'm in love with "The Nanny". I think I may be the only person in the world that can watch that show all day, everyday, and not get tired of it.
Favorite band: Freelance Whales. Their music makes me happy. I just love things that make me happy.
Favorite Blu-Ray: The Beauty & the Beast. I love love love it.

Things I don't care for:
The sound our dishwasher makes when it's running.
Squeaky doors.
Out of control kids. (Come one all you moms out there that let your kids cry and act like little wild bumpkins. Do us all a favor and shut them up! No one thinks it's cute besides you.)
Hateful Army wives.
Hateful old people. (Please don't take this as me not liking all old people. They're fine. It's just the ones that think that I'm still two years old and incompetent that I have a problem with.)
Hateful people in general.
Screaming Asians. (Again, please don't think that I have something against Asians, because I don't. Just the ones that scream at me.)
Peanut butter.
The time difference between Hawaii and Oklahoma.
Sweating.

Well I think it's time for me to hit the hay!
I can barely keep my eyes open.
Goodnight to all!
